Earthlust Stainless Steel Reusable Bottles

Wednesday, January 20, 2010 5:43:54 PM CST

I love that these stainless steel bottles made by Earthlust are not only reusable, but are naturally safe unlined! Being that they are made of high quality #304 stainless steel, they do not contain Bisphenol-A or Phthalates. The top is made of BPA-free #5 caps and features a convenient and easy to use clip to carry your reusable bottle anywhere! You can also use a sports bottle for those on the run or who like to walk, talk and drink water at the same time. They come in many different designs, all inspired by nature of course. My favorite, the ginko (gee ... I wonder why). These reusable bottles come in 3 different sizes, 13oz, 18oz and 1L. Earthlust just designed stainless steel reusable baby bottles as well. Stay tuned though, they are not ready to ship just yet. Get rid of those plastic bottles and get yourself a handy, dandy reusable stainless steel bottle instead!

Fire & Light Recycled Glass Heart

Wednesday, October 21, 2009 4:26:50 PM CDT

For those of you looking for a simple green gift for your loved one (or yourself), I recommend Fire & Light's recycled glass heart. This beautiful handmade one-of-a-kind piece is made of 91% recycled glass in the US. Lead free, this simple and stunning heart is perfect as a paper weight or a beautiful accessory to any room. I love (besides the fact that it is under $30) the story behind the company that makes this piece. Fire & Light started in 1995 when Arcata Community Recycling Center in California partnered with a group of local investors who wanted to make use of discarded broken recycled glass. They created an innovative way to turn their unusable recycled glass into beautiful giftware and dinnerware. How crafty and resourceful! The recycled glass heart is available in 8 vibrant colors: Aqua, Celery, Citrus, Cobalt, Cooper, Olive, Lavender, Plum (all colors are made-to-order except Cobalt blue). Each piece is gift boxed and signed. This is the perfect gift to show your love and appreciation towards your loved one!

Soy Crayon Rocks

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 7:12:39 PM CDT

Let's face it. You are never too old to color! When I got my hands on Soy Crayon Rocks, I couldn't stop coloring. Although they are designed for tots (not under 3 years old, mind you), they are so easy to hold and create vibrant beautiful works of art. What I love about these crayons is that they are made of soy wax (yes, soybeans), are colored with natural minerals and are formed in a cool 'jelly bean' shape. Developed by Barbara Lee DeBoll, a teacher of over 22 years, she realized how important developing chldren's tripod muscles are at an early age. In fact, she says your handwriting skills depends on this. KellyGreen-Way.com offers Crayon Rocks in 3 sizes; the treasure bag with 8 Crayon Rocks For just $5, 16 in a reusable box for $8 and my favorite, the BIG box of 64 Crayon Rocks for $25. Whatever size suits your fancy - be creative and have fun coloring!

Positively Green Eco-Friendly Notebooks

Wednesday, September 2, 2009 10:15:52 AM CDT

I can't tell you how many times I was out-and-about and needed a convenient piece of paper or notepad to jot down a note or thought, and could only find a gum wrapper or tissue. And we all know that no matter how organized you are, that tiny piece of paper that you scrounged up magically disapears when you need it most. This, obviously, leads me to my Weekly Wednesday's Favorite! The adorable and compact eco-friendly notebook by Positively Green, is made entirley in the US with soy ink on Forest Steward Council certified 100% recycled stock. Each notebook features an inspiring quote on the front and an easy-to-do green tip on the back! My fav quote - "One great, strong, unselfish soul in every community could actually redeem the world". —Elbert Hubbard. On my Positively Green notebook, I learned that fridges and freezers consume 25% of home energy and that by investing in an EnergyStar fridge, you can spare the planet 8 tons of C02 (and $$$)! Very cool! This eco-fab notebook is only 5.375" X 4.25", so you can toss it in your purse, use it in your office or at home to organize your grocery or to-do list. All 64 pages are lined. Not only will you be more organized, but you are supporting a good cause! Positively Green donates 10% of profits to Conservation International and Climate Solutions! Go ahead...get organized!

KellyGreen-Way.com LAUNCHES!

Wednesday, September 2, 2009 8:36:56 AM CDT

I am SO proud to finally say...KellyGreen-Way.com officially launched on 9-1-09! I never knew in a million years that there would be so many mountains to climb and obstacles to hurdle over, and I have to say, that I am pretty darn proud of myself! But, through all the excitment, challenges and sometimes tears, it has been worth it! I feel so lucky to have an opportunity to help people live a green lifestyle in some way! After all, I knew that my destiny was to help people (and the environment too, of course), and I am doing just that! I know this may be cheesy, (don't care..it's MY blog) but I have to thank those who helped and supported me throughout my journey... Mom - I can't thank you enough for always being there when I need you, for your long distance shoulder to lean on, and for giving me a review of English grammer! Dion - Thank you for sharing your business savvy and for being the devil's advocate! Someone needs to be the devils advocate! Sharon - Somehow you always know what to say and it always makes sense. I know I can always call you when I am in a pickle. Dad - Thank you for your support, for being my cheer leader and for giving me great ideas! Thank you to the rest of my friends and family for your opinions, support and love! (You know who you are... too many to list) May you find what you love and share what you learn! Cheers!
