Jeanette Farrier's talents as a costume designer have been seen by all of us at some time or another. In a career spanning three decades, her work has been seen and lauded in advertising, TV and film circlll, Rowan Atkinson, Peter Cook, Helen Mirren, Pauline Quirke, Billy Connolly, Ewan MacGregor, Ronnie Barker the list is seemingly endless. Her interest in Kantha began when she revisited India in 2003. Not only was she entranced by the traditional village craft of stitching used saris to create blankets and useful home items but she was determined to try and do something to improve these womans lives by creating paid work for them. Jeanettes determination to create beautiful products that benefit those less fortunate has come to fruition. She now regularly visits India to personally select suitable antique saris for her collection.
